New Twist Stoppers from TEMCO

TEMCO, Germany, has introduced two new twist stoppers for textile machinery. The components are used before the first heater to stabilize the process on all texturing machines. The Premium is a high-performance twist stop device that fulfills all production criteria for optimum yarn results. Most important quality characteristics are: protection of bearings against wraps, quiet operation via double-row quality bearings, yarn speeds up to 1500 m/min, and easy thread-in. Different models are available for polyester microfilament, nylon yarn and plied yarns. The Twistec device is a cost-effective alternative and can be used in exchange for existing twist stop systems from other suppliers, as a spare part or as original equipment. It has a single-row bearing and takes up only small amount of space. For more information, please see the TEMCO web site at www.temco.de

New Web Spreading System from CAC

Converter Accessory Corp. (CAC), USA, has introduced the new Adjusta-Pull® web spreading system for efficient and cost-effective wrinkle removal and web spreading. Adjusta-Pull is an aggressive system, especially effective with nearly all textiles and nonwovens as well as paper and film applications. The entirely mechanical system uses the principle that a web will seek a 90° angle to a roll in its entry span to that roll. Adjusta-Pull consists of two opposing nip roll assemblies that use this principle to impose a consistent, controlled outward draw on the web material. Easily adjusted angular displacement, relative to the direction of the web flow, influences the amount of draw and thus allows regulation of the amount of spreading action. TSI Noncontact Length and Speed Gauge

TSI Inc., USA, a leader in noncontact measurement technology, has introduced its new Model LS200 LaserSpeed noncontact length and speed gauge. Ideal for web products, nonwovens, rubber items and plastic films and tapes, the LS200 provides high accuracy, noncontact measurement at a substantial savings over the prior model. Accuracy is better than + or – 0.1%. The new gauge can replace contact tachometers, which are prone to errors caused by slippage, dirt build-up and wear-related problems. The model has no moving parts and uses 100% digital technology. For more information, please see the TSI web site at www.tsi.com

Under-water Pelletizer for Glass Fiber

BKG Bruckmann & Kreyenborg Granuliertechnik GmbH, Germany, have developed an under-water pelletizing system for application in the production of glass fiber-filled products. The difficulty in development was not the cutting of the product but the enormous wear that occurs during transport and drying of the pellet, the company said. For this reason, a special centrifugal dryer was invented and new coating methods applied to the entire pelletizing system. Several systems for different fields of application are now in commercial use with an output capacity of up to 2500 kg/hr. The new system has already proved its reliability for PP, PT, PC and PA with up to 50% glass fiber content. For more information, please see the BKG web site at www.bkg.de
